100 minute check for August 24

Hey, is anyone still out there writing? The blog has been silent all month! I'm guessing everyone's in back to school panic mode-- but keep writing! I need people to be accountable to, and I'm guessing you all do, too.

I've definitely got my 100 minutes in, because I had to have an article revision done by today. FINALLY the article is getting published, after a year and a half and two major revisions (plus the minor one I just did). Yay!

This week's plan is to unbury my piece from the retreat and get moving on it. Anyone else doing the same thing?

Hurray Sheila! You have the same goal of 'today I will unearth my retreat work' as I do. It is a beautiful day here in Ohio-perfect weather with cat and coffee, perfect for working on my writing. I look forward to hearing about your progress and to looking at mine! Yes, school is demanding, but in a good way. I wish there were more hours in the day, but since there are not, I am milking the ones we get.
Best!

I'm here! Thank you, Sheila, for doing the post!
I am happy to say that much of my silence (though not all of it) was because I was revising the piece that was accepted to the MN English Journal. You'd all understand and agree that it takes SO much work when it gets to that final, final draft. My retreat work was based on this work, so I, too, will dig back in once all the revisions are accepted and I get the green light so I can officially celebrate, or sigh relief, or raise a glass...or all three. I do need to work on it, because I am sure y'll don't want to read all 17 pages!

Go Sherri! Yay! I signed a copyright page on a piece I've been revising for a year and a half. Final revisions are a pain, but they're worth it!
