What's up, writers?
How are you doing?
How WILL you be doing?

I MUST quit being the first comment, because I set a bad example.
I gave myself my sailing reward even though I didn't write. Sailing was awesome...but my paper is stalled as I wait for the editor for the MN English Journal to give me direction. This week I am going to risk being a pest and ask him again for the feedback he promised at the end of June.

Yes! Go be a pest to that editor, Sherri!

Technically I got my time in, but I don't feel good about my writing activities this past week. It was all diddly paper-work writing rather than wrestling with ideas like I really want/ought to be doing. But the hoops are cleared now. This week will be better.

I DID hear from the editor, right after I decided to be a pest, and he's given me helpful comments using "track changes." It's exactly what I needed to get moving. A rainy, hot day in MN might be exactly what I need to keep from having to send another pathetic update...

Sherri, I'm glad you got your sailing trip! Obviously, you've been pretty productive already. Yea on hearing back from the editor! I was also enjoying the sun last week, which is why I'm posting this late. I was in northern Michigan, and the only writing I did was writing my nephew's name in the sand. By tomorrow, when another Sunday rolls around, I think I will have squeezed in my hundred minutes for THIS week. So I feel OK in all! ~ Merritt

I have been writing about how people engage in conversation, how the lightbulb goes off and the connection is there. I don't know where this going, but I do feel like it has a strong voice and that it is my voice. So I am going for it. I have not touched my professional piece except to have many conversations about the topic. My team is on board for my proposal (that they write about a student/class when we meet one day weekly). I will analyze the words they use and see if my proposed purpose (increased proactive approach) is achieved.
Here's hoping. Carol
